December 7 @ 9:00 am - December 20 @ 3:00 pmFree
Bethany Thomas is a young artist currently studying a Research Masters at The University of Plymouth. Her practice focuses on portraiture and narrative, aiming to capture time and moments of thought.
Thomas has an interest in the history and philosophy of art, being particularly influenced by the notion of original thought. She is a multi-disciplinary artist with a background is in painting and drawing and she has recently begun to produce digital & animated works.
Thomas creates large scale installations and experiments with conceptual art by looking heavily at abstract expressionism, action painting and the link between instinct and art, with everything in her work linking back to control.
Snapshots & Reflections: Time in Motion speaks to mundane motions that are often unobserved. Films screening in the Cells try to capture moments in time through both animation and moving image, with an additional catalogue of illustrations and prints.
