Devonport Guildhall held its first ever wedding ceremony on Saturday 8th June, with the service taking place in the Mayor’s Parlour and the stunning Main Hall – which is now one of the largest licensed ceremony rooms located in Plymouth, used for the reception.
The newlyweds Pete and Emily celebrated their big day with 75 family and friends and took full advantage of the grand steps and entrance area which provides the perfect photo opportunity underneath its beautiful columned facade. The couple also took great pleasure in climbing to the top of Devonport Column, adjacent to the Guildhall where they enjoyed breath-taking views of Plymouth and strawberries and champagne on ice.
Claire Burgess, Devonport Guildhall’s Commercial Manager said “I was delighted to see the Guildhall used not only for a wedding reception but also the ceremony itself. It is a Grade 1 listed building with beautiful high ceilings and a great sense of light and space, making it perfect for such an occasion”.
